APA STYLE: Title Page (informal)
Based on the sixth edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association © 2010
Note: The symbol § indicates reference to numbered sections of the APA Manual.
If you are writing a formal research report in APA style, you will want to consult the APA manual (§2.012.03, 8.03, and p.41) regarding the title, byline, and author note, which together comprise the title page. For
many student papers, however, your professor may prefer a relaxed format. Occasionally, a professor may
ask you to move the title page to the end of your paper; this measure is intended to reduce bias in reading and
grading the content. Here, then, is a suggested informal title page, suitable for a variety of student papers.
